Promotional and Lead-up Event for U.S. - East Africa Trade & Investment Conference and Trade Missions

The Minnesota Institute of Horn of Africa Studies (MNIHAS) is hosting a promotional event in Nairobi to introduce and build momentum for the 2026 U.S.–East Africa Trade & Investment Conference (February 4–6, 2026, Djibouti) and the U.S. Trade & Investment Missions to Nairobi and Addis Ababa (January 30 – February 3, 2026).

Participants & Focus

The Nairobi session will gather representatives from the U.S. Embassy, East African embassies, the Government of Kenya, regional business leaders, and the diaspora. The event will present the goals, structure, and opportunities of the 2026 conference, highlight Djibouti’s role as host country, and strengthen early collaboration among government, private- sector, and diaspora stakeholders.

Expected Outcomes

Expected outcomes include increased visibility, stronger institutional engagement, identification of partners and sponsors, and enhanced coordination for the conference and trade missions.

This event supports momentum toward the 2026 Conference and Trade Missions.
