Family: Minnesota man detained in Ethiopia has been freed, is on way home

Prominent Twin Cities businessman Tashitaa Tufaa, CEO of Metropolitan Transportation Network, has been detained in Ethiopia but is now on his way home after intervention from Sen. Amy Klobuchar and Rep. Dean Phillips. Tufaa was detained at an Ethiopian airport as he was about to return to the United States. Ethiopia currently has a “reconsider travel” advisory from the U.S. State Department.
